We are seeking an Accounting Compliance & Governance Manager to help ensure our organisation maintains strong corporate governance and statutory compliance across our international operations.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role works closely with executive leadership, external advisors and our company secretariat provider to coordinate governance processes, regulatory reporting and compliance frameworks, while taking ownership of key accounting compliance activities including, statutory lodgements, audit readiness and financial compliance reporting.

This role will suit a CA/CPA qualified professional seeking a hands-on accounting compliance role with exposure to governance and corporate structure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate statutory reporting obligations including BAS, STP, superannuation and WorkCover and regulatory filings
  • Manage governance documentation and corporate registers and assist in the preparation and coordination of company tax return lodgements.
  • Support external audit processes and regulatory reviews, including the preparation for year-end and interim audit requirements
  • Administer governance requirements for employee equity schemes (ESS and SARs)
  • Prepare documentation supporting R&D Tax Incentive claims across Australia and NZ, including supporting improved timesheet adherence and data integrity ahead of lodgement periods.
  • Maintain compliance registers, governance documentation and insurance records
  • Enforce monitoring of the organisation’s Delegation of Authority (DOA) framework
  • Work with external advisors including auditors, tax specialists and company secretariat providers
  • Support the governance and coordination of trademarks, patents and other intellectual property matters, including alignment with entity structures and cross-jurisdiction considerations
  • Assist with ad hoc corporate and financial governance activities including entity structuring, banking set up and regulatory (4C) reporting
  • Support corporate governance and company secretariat activities, including reporting, across multiple entities and jurisdictions 

 About You

You are a highly experienced and organised governance or compliance professional who enjoys bringing structure and rigour to complex regulatory environments.

You will likely bring:

  • Strong accounting foundation with experience in tax, statutory reporting or financial compliance
  • A preference for exposure to governance within an ASX-listed or similarly regulated organisation
  • Experience coordinating auditors, tax advisors or company secretariat providers
  • Experience managing statutory filings or regulatory reporting obligations
  • Strong understanding of Australian corporate governance and compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting frameworks and corporate governance structures
  • Familiarity with employee share schemes or equity governance
  • CA, CPA or Company Secretary qualification
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance is essential, Additional qualifications in Law, Business or a related discipline and experience with Navision will be highly regarded.

    • Excellent advisory and coaching skills to handle HR queries at all levels of an organisation.
    • Experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures.
    • A proven ability to manage employee performance matters with confidence and care.
    • Excellent communication, with highly effective interpersonal and influencing skills and a strong customer focus. Confident presenting to Board members and delivering HR advise to executive teams.
    • Absolute integrity, discretion and high ethical standards along with an understanding of and complete commitment to confidentiality.
    • Strong ability to efficiently deliver to client deadlines and effectively manage challenges and changing priorities, demonstrating professionalism and problem solving.
    • Exceptionally organised with a sharp eye for detail and a proven ability to navigate both granular tasks and strategic, big-picture thinking.
    • Proven ability to interpret and apply the Fair Work Act, providing advice to leaders and employees as well as an understanding of the application of policies and procedures.
    • Familiarity with Employment Hero and similar HRIS platforms (an advantage).
